For Halloween this year, I figured I’d review more than one horror movie! I’ve got quite a list of reviews–almost 80!!–and I want to keep adding. Why not? I’ve got a few I want to talk about, but I don’t want to spend a ton of time on them. So here’s a list of what I’ve watched recently and what I think of them.
But first… Here’s all my movie reviews of the last couple months! Just click on the movie title to see the review and score!

Run Rabbit Run–7.6/10

So we’ll start with this movie, because it’s all over the place!
The beginning is pretty good. This movie and the filmmakers build suspense in every way. Every relationship dynamic, every element of the story, just adds to the growing tension. It’s not a unique setup for a movie. Definitely something I’ve seen before. But the way it’s done is refreshingly new.
Of course, the little kid’s mask is creepy. Quite effective. And the character overall is actually super creepy. I think the mixture of innocence and darkness, just below the surface, really drives this movie.
That being said, some parts are overly dramatic. There are some bad dialogue lines, and somehow, despite these over-the-top moments, there are no distinct scenes. Nothing that sticks out. The kid really has to carry the movie, and my engagement definitely started to slip. Until…
The ending. Oh my gosh, the ending. This movie saved the best scenes, the best images, for the very, very end. And it leaves you with a shocking, gut-wrenching revelation. Not a crazy surprise, but actually seeing it on screen… Just the ending makes this whole film worth it.
Seriously! So check it out. If you enjoy the creepy kid trope, then you’ll love this movie.
The Conference–8.2/10

Alright, next one! This one is actually dubbed in English, and usually that bothers me, but the movie started off so well I sat through it. And maybe I’ll try it more often, because it was worth it!
I’d describe this movie as very “Friday the 13th,” both in terms of the genre and the way it plays out. The setup is your classic “camp slasher movie,” but instead of teenagers at a summer camp it’s… business people at a team-building conference. Incredible concept, if I do say so myself.
Other Friday the 13th similarities? This has some killer kills. As in: memorable, unexpected, bloody, haunting. I won’t spoil any of them, but trust me… you won’t forget.
The storyline is interesting enough. Not amazing, but it’s not bad. I’m gonna say this movie probably isn’t fun to rewatch, because after the initial shock of each kill there isn’t much to enjoy. Some funny dialogue, sure, and there are some really cool cinematography moments. This isn’t an amazing horror movie, but it’s pretty good. It’s got all the stuff I want in one of these.
This is basically what I’d want from a Friday the 13th sequel, a good one, so you can just pretend it’s that! I do recommend watching this, though, if you enjoy slasher movies. It’s one of the better ones I’ve seen.
Totally Killer–6.3/10

Last but not least! Well… maybe least.
This one was the hardest to review. I don’t dislike it, and I did enjoy watching it. However, going into the movie, I had super low expectations. Prime Original, looks cheesy, weird tagline. Do I really want Back to the Future meets Friday the 13th? Eh… But it’s here.
It was surprisingly interesting. The movie does some things I didn’t expect, so despite the cheesy plot moments (and there are some very cheesy moments) I had a good time watching this.
Other good things: There are some memorable kills and a good villain that’s consistently entertaining through the whole thing. Maybe if I hadn’t watched the two movies above, I would rate this higher, but after watching Run Rabbit Run and The Conference… I just can’t hold this one in high regard. Or really recommend it.
So watch this if you must, but you’ll enjoy the two above this more! Unless you’re looking for a lower-level horror movie with some nostalgia. In that case, go for it! You’ll probaby like it. But you should watch the other two next.
Happy Halloween, everybody! Get some good candy, watch some creepy movies, and enjoy the immaculate vibes.
See you all soon for an exciting announcement about my book. In the meantime, I’ll be eating pumpkin rolls. Yes, multiple. (Side note: Thanks, Mom, for the multiple pumpkin rolls.)
