Alright, time to review Scream 6. Have I reviewed any of the others? No. Have I seen all of the others? No. I’ve seen 2 of them. The first 2. And I don’t really have plans to see any more.
So let’s get to it! This is a movie that will make you scream… Find out why.

What Happened?
I’m not gonna beat around the bush here. This movie is not good.
There are some series that can keep going for 6+ movies with good (at least decent) quality. Friday the 13th does it well. Halloween, too. There are some bad movies, but not this bad. Insidious is another one, with much better quality on average.
But not Scream.
I think I know why. Scream, the original one, is innovative. It’s kind of goofy, and it’s a new type of villain. One who knows he’s in a horror movie. That’s so meta, right? But that idea is so played out now. Countless movies have done it or tried to. And this one tries, too… but does it badly.
The dialogue is corny. The characters aren’t good. I thought Jenna Ortega might be the saving grace, but she’s not. Scream face himself isn’t good, either. (I know. Ghostface. But this version doesn’t deserve the name.)
Also the plot. I’m a big stickler for plot. The developments from the last Scream movie (I looked up a summary) are just awful. Nonsensical. Not interesting, not fun. Not worth watching.

Are There Any Good Parts?
My main interest going in was “Will it be better than the Halloween sequel trilogy?” which I didn’t review. So I don’t have a score to go on. But no, it’s not better. Even the last Halloween movie which sucked was better than this.
That being said, it’s not all terrible.
Ghostface is still the best Halloween costume from a slasher movie. 2nd best is Michael Myers. Not taking questions.
Like I said, the plot in this movie is a terrible way to progress from the last movie. Couldn’t have been worse, honestly.
There are some good lines. “I’m more of a rom-com guy.” Okay, I laughed. A couple of the kills are good, too. But for a two-hour movie, there is so little to like.
The characters? Nope. The plot development? The killer reveal? Yawn. It was way too predictable, even for Scream, and not funny at all, especially for Scream.
Overall: 4/10
So… I’m giving this a 4/10. Same score as Countdown, the really bad Netflix horror movie. But at least that movie is funny! In an ironic way. This one can’t even manage that.
I’m fine with Jenna Ortega in more horror movies, though. I guess that’s a plus? Eh, still 4/10.
